Department of Soil Science Technology

Mandate:

• To train and develop skilled professionals in the area of land resources and environmental management – promoting soil and water conservation in northern Nigeria for increased agricultural production.
• Soil fertility evaluation through plant tissue/soil analysis (testing) for enhance agricultural production.

Vision:

• Build middle-level man power (HND in soil science technology) on high quality scientific and technology based education.
• To produce soil scientist that are confident, efficient, independent, and problem solving by creating conducive learning environment.

Mission:

• To produce high quality middle-man that will drive the agricultural and other related sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Facilities:

• A well-equipped soil chemistry laboratory
• A well-equipped soil biology laboratory
• A well-equipped soil physics laboratory

Staff:

The Department is manned by a crop of qualified and well trained academic/teaching staff, technologists and academic support staff/instructors.
